More than 60 guests recently gathered at the Country Club of Charleston for the inaugural luncheon of Friends from the Heart, a new association for friends and supporters of the MUSC Heart & Vascular Center.
Guests were welcomed by Heart & Vascular Center Advisory Board member Doug Warner, followed by an invocation from Harriett Daughtridge, also a member of the board. They later heard a powerful testimonial from Brittany Crosby Howard, who underwent a heart transplant in December 2018 shortly after delivering her third child, and a presentation by Division of Cardiology Director Thomas G. Di Salvo, M.D., on the state of the Heart & Vascular Center.
Mary Johnson, a member of the Heart & Vascular Advisory Board and chair of its development committee, closed the event with an overview of the new Friends from the Heart society.
