A message from Dean Hall
What will 20/20 hindsight tell us about our choices in 2020? The pandemic’s potential impact on the future of pharmacy.
Private donations are enabling the Medical University to fast-track its response to the COVID-19 crisis. Here are a few examples of how.
Private gifts are advancing our efforts to develop and acquire a blood test to identify people who have developed an immunity to the COVID-19 virus. Knowing this will help us identify health care workers who can remain on the job in clinical settings. It also could help employers in other sectors identify workers who can safely return to their jobs, potentially assisting in the economic recovery.
Currently, we are performing 900 COVID-19 tests a day. Donations are enabling us to purchase the equipment and materials needed to double that capacity to prepare for the anticipated surge of patients.
These gifts will assist those staff who have experienced unforeseen expenses related to their service.
In recognition of MUSC Health hospitals in other parts of the state, the community has made donations to support providers and response efforts at its hospitals at Lancaster Medical Center and Florence Medical Center.
