The Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is federal legislation designed to protect the civil rights of individuals with disabilities in programs and activities that receive federal funds. Section 504 states that "no otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States . . . shall solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as Amended (the “ADA”)

The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) is a civil rights law that was originally passed by Congress in 1990 as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA protects individuals with disabilities from discrimination in the workplace, school and other settings. As amended, the ADAAA requires all peoples with disabilities, as members of the public who are seeking information, have access and use of information and data that is comparable to that provided to all persons without disabilities.
