Flags for International Education Week at MUSC

MUSC Center for Global Health collaborated with The College of Charleston, The Citadel, and Charleston Southern University to celebrate International Education Week (IEW) 2013 by promoting the benefits of cross-cultural, global education. IEW is an initiative created by the U.S. Department of State to recognize international education collaboration in the United States.

To honor this event, MUSC Center for Global Health placed flags of every country represented on campus, along with many others to reflect the global unity expressed in the classrooms and hospital corridors across the university. This grand gesture was met with tremendous appreciation from across the globe. Rebeca Mueller of MUSC Center for Global Health coordinated IEW activities that took place on campus. “It's amazing the feedback we get from both our MUSC Internationals and Americans alike whenever we raise the flags of nations,” said Mueller. “And if you haven't taken the opportunity to cross cultures at the World Culture Fair put together annually during International Education Week, you really are missing out. Lots of our own MUSC internationals perform. Fantastic!”
