Electronic Security

At the Medical University of SC, Charleston campus, there are over 900+ doors controlled by badge access and more than 750+ security cameras installed in and around University Buildings and roadways.

Badge access history reports can be run upon request.

Recorded videos are saved for up to 25 days and can be reviewed by Hospital Security and MUSC Public Safety Investigators.

Panic Buttons are installed upon request. Those installed on the Charleston campus are responded to by Public Safety Dispatch Services.

In addition to physical devices, MUSC Public Safety recommends all students and employees download and install the LiveSafe app on their cell phones. Information and instructions on how to install the LiveSafe app can be found at the following link:

MUSC Public Safety is always looking to improve the reliability and efficiency of their electronic security systems by researching new options that are available.
