All MUSC Health locations are open. How to help hurricane victims.

Young-Min Park

Name: Young-Min Park

Role: Global Travel Safety & Security Coordinator

Hometown: Seoul, South Korea (since then I have moved around a lot – 10 cities in 5 countries on 3 different continents).

When did you join MUSC? October 2024

What’s your favorite part about working in global health? Throughout my whole life, I was constantly surrounded by multiple languages, cultures, and people from all over the world. I feel most at home when I’m around globally minded people. The staff, faculty, and students that I interact with on a regular basis as part of my work in global health make me feel very much at home.

What advice would you give to an international student or faculty member coming to MUSC for the first time? As a former international student, I have firsthand knowledge of how both exciting and terrifying it can be to leave your home and move to a new school, country, and culture. I also know that you will meet some of the most amazing people and make lasting memories here. Be curious, open, and excited for what is to come.

How do you like to spend your free time? If there is a Tottenham Hotspur game on TV, I will be watching it. It’s a soccer team in England, for those unfamiliar with the sport. The rest of my free time is dedicated to looking for delicious food – from fine dining to food trucks under the highway overpass. Life is short; eat good food.

What is your favorite place to travel? South Korea – What’s not to love? K-pop, K-dramas, and all the food! Plus, I still have a lot of family in Korea, so I always have a great time when I visit.
