Center for Global Health

The MUSC Center for Global Health, reporting to the Office of the Provost, is a university-wide initiative to bring global efforts under one umbrella to advance the global vision of MUSC and to serve as a catalyst for the innovative work of our faculty and students. The mission of the Center for Global Health is to advance MUSC’s efforts to improve health in South Carolina and around the world through research, education and training, and service.

Center for Global Health Travel Grant Cycles Open Now

Annually, the Center for Global Health seeks applications from students, trainees and faculty for various travel grant opportunities. The following cycles are currently open: 

Faculty Mentor Travel Grant

International travel grants of up to $2,000 each to MUSC faculty leading groups of MUSC students to low- and middle-income countries for education, research, or service-learning programs. The goal of the awards is to assist recipients in providing mentorship to students in furthering global health research or training projects in low- and middle-income countries.

Deadline to apply: November 11 at 5 p.m. EST

Faculty Pilot Research Grant

The Center for Global Health helps catalyze ideas into action by providing seed grants up to $20,000 to faculty to help them get their research projects off the ground and advance scientific discoveries in low- and middle-income countries.

Since 2013, MUSC has been providing funding to early-stage research projects in global health with our annual Global Health Pilot Grants to catalyze new initiatives and build bridges between disciplines. Through this program, the Center for Global Health helps MUSC faculty from every college build and expand global partnerships with leading universities, government agencies, and community and non-governmental organizations.
