Abstract Guidelines

General Requirements

  • Categories: Abstracts are welcome in all areas of global health.
  • Abstracts must be in narrative form – no tables, charts or graphs.
  • Abstract should be a maximum of 300 words (Note: This count does not include the abstract title).
  • Submitting author is expected to attend the event and present the poster.
  • Submitting authors must obtain pre-approval from any co-authors prior to submitting the abstract.
  • Abstracts should be organized, concise, clear, and well-written.
  • Abstracts should include the problem being addressed, and your approach to the problem. Providing preliminary results is suggested but not required. *Results will be required for the final poster.
  • In order for your abstract to be accepted, authors must clearly establish the connection between your work and outcomes related to global health, if it is not obvious. 

Selection

A committee will evaluate submissions on its originality, presentation, relevance, quality and clarity, and recommend which submissions should be included in the MUSC Global Health Week poster session.

You will be notified of acceptance by March 29.

Detailed instructions on poster preparation will be sent with the abstract acceptance notice.
