MUSC Center for Health Policy

The MUSC Center for Health Policy coordinates public policy initiatives across the academic, research, and clinical enterprises at MUSC. The Center promotes innovative, evidence-based policy solutions that further MUSC’s mission to optimize human health in South Carolina and beyond.

As a growing health system and the only academic health sciences center in South Carolina, it is critical that MUSC continue to lead in the policymaking space and play a proactive, mission-driven role in the state and national discourse on health care and health professions education.

The MUSC Health Policy Center advances leadership and policy development in a number of ways:

  • Provides useful and reliable analysis to inform policy, specifically on issues relating to value, access to care, rural health and prevention; and academics and workforce development
  • Designs and employs strategies and forums to educate the MUSC community and public stakeholders about health policy issues
  • Promotes leadership development in the health policy field
  • Fosters relationships and collaborative opportunities with other entities in the health policy entities.
