Updating Contact Information

As a J-1 exchange visitor, you are responsible for keeping your contact information updated with the Center for Global Health. This includes your US residential (home) address and your US phone number.

If you change your address or phone number, you must provide the updated information to the Center for Global Health within 10 days of the change. This is required by federal J-1 regulations. A CGH advisor is then responsible for updating this information in SEVIS (the US federal government database for J-1 exchange visitors). Failure to report your change of address or phone number in a timely manner may impact your ability to maintain J-1 status and remain in the US.

Address and phone updates are submitted through your Terra Dotta Portal. Once logged in to Terra Dotta, navigate to the Profile tab and locate the My Contact Information panel. You can view and edit your address and phone number directly on this page. Once you have updated your information, you must click the Update button at the bottom of the page. 

Please be aware that you may need to update your home address and/or phone number in several separate MUSC systems. For example, you may need to update your records in OurDay system when you change your address. Information updated in other MUSC systems does not transfer to your Terra Dotta profile, which is why you need to update Terra Dotta separately.
