Fitness and Health Programs

MUSC Wellness Center is proud to offer a variety of fitness and health programs. You can get more information and sign up for programs at the Membership Desk or by phone 843-792-5757. 

H.I.T.S. with James Johnson

H.I.T.S. is a strength and conditioning program that improves overall athleticism in any athlete or individual. Sessions offered every 6 weeks on Tuesdays and Fridays 6:10am - 7:05am.

Health Works with James Johnson

Target: Health First Training Approach 

Consists of:

  • 40 to 50% cardio training, 
  • 30% multi-joint metabolic boosting full body strength exercises, 
  • 15% core,
  • 5% each of stability and mobility training.

Designed for: Beginner to intermediate experience level gym level participants. Excellent choice for those who are getting back into training after an extended break. 

Health Works establishes a structure and guide for optimizing the health benefits of physical training with results that are measurable, perceived, and visible.

Sessions offered every 6 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am.

Pilates

The MUSC Wellness Center offers mat and equipment-based Pilates classes for those looking to reshape their bodies and correct muscular imbalances. Pilates training helps to strengthen what’s weak and stretch what is tight for improved body mechanics. It can radically transform the way your body looks, feels and moves and aids in reducing injuries.

Boxing Programs

Boxing and Conditioning program is offered every 6 weeks on Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am. Build punching combinations and confidence in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Get fit physically and mentally while learning a new skill. 

Boot Camp

U. S. Marines lead participants in a military style fitness training class. This class focuses on overall fitness and endurance training. The structure, accountability, camaraderie, and overall fitness make this the ultimate exercise experience.

Karen's Class

This class is designed for ages 50 years and over and focuses on agility, balance, coordination, endurance, stretching, and strength training. Physician clearance is required.

Stae Fit

S.T.A.E. Fit (Strength Training and Aerobic Exercise) Healthy MUSCles for Seniors! This program combines strength, aerobics, flexibility, and balance exercises.

Women on Weights

This program is designed to educate and familiarize women on how to properly use weight training exercises to effectively improve strength, coordination, balance, core control

FEES FOR SERVICES POLICY:

It takes an extraordinary commitment of our resources to prepare, coordinate, and staff our facilities, programs, services, and classes; therefore, all payments are non-refundable and cannot be prorated.

The following fee for services, classes, and programs are not refundable and not prorated:

  • Locker Rentals
  • Parking Fees
  • Room Rental
  • Guest Fees

Program Fees including small group training, swim lessons, personal training sessions, Pilates, Healthy Charleston Challenge, etc.

MUSC Wellness Center reserves the right to delay or cancel any activity or class due to inclement weather, natural disasters, or extenuating circumstances. Weather make-up sessions may be scheduled, but are not guaranteed. No credits or refunds will be issued for classes not attended. All training sessions and programs must be purchased in advance. Session and program payments are non-refundable. Training sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be redeemed, and cannot be rescheduled unless the trainer and management provide an exception for special circumstances. Transferring unused personal training sessions to an immediate family member may be allowed at the discretion of the Wellness Center Director.
