My Best Health Challenge

My Best Health Challenge is a comprehensive 10-week overweight/obesity chronic-disease prevention program and an activity competition designed to increase physical activity and provide skills, professional guidance, and accountability for developing healthy lifestyle habits. Every week participants will get introduced to new exercise programs in a safe personal group training setting, get educational videos created specifically for My Best Health Challenge including nutrition education and various exercise physiology. 

Spring 2022 My Best Health dates are January 10 to March 17, 2022.

Program Fees: Wellness Center Members and Students $350, Non-Members $550

Boot Camp

U. S. Marines lead participants in a military style fitness training class. This class focuses on overall fitness and endurance training. The structure, accountability, camaraderie, and overall fitness make this the ultimate exercise experience. Mondays and Thursdays 6:00am. 

H.I.T.S. with James Johnson

H.I.T.S. is a strength and conditioning program that improves overall athleticism in any athlete or individual. Sessions offered every 6 weeks on Tuesdays and Fridays 6:10am - 7:05am.

Health Works with James Johnson

Target: Health First Training Approach 

Consists of:

  • 40 to 50% cardio training, 
  • 30% multi-joint metabolic boosting full body strength exercises, 
  • 15% core,
  • 5% each of stability and mobility training.

Designed for: Beginner to intermediate experience level gym level participants. Excellent choice for those who are getting back into training after an extended break. 

Health Works establishes a structure and guide for optimizing the health benefits of physical training with results that are measurable, perceived, and visible.

Sessions offered every 6 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am.  


It takes an extraordinary commitment of our resources to prepare, coordinate, and staff our facilities, programs, services, and classes; therefore, all payments are non-refundable and cannot be prorated.

The following fee for services, classes, and programs are not refundable and not prorated:

  • Locker Rentals
  • Parking Fees
  • Room Rental
  • Guest Fees

Program Fees including small group training, swim lessons, personal training sessions, Pilates, Healthy Charleston Challenge, etc.

MUSC Wellness Center reserves the right to delay or cancel any activity or class due to inclement weather, natural disasters, or extenuating circumstances. Weather make-up sessions may be scheduled, but are not guaranteed. No credits or refunds will be issued for classes not attended. All training sessions and programs must be purchased in advance. Session and program payments are non-refundable. Training sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be redeemed, and cannot be rescheduled unless the trainer and management provide an exception for special circumstances. Transferring unused personal training sessions to an immediate family member may be allowed at the discretion of the Wellness Center Director.
