Call for Student Poster Submissions

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 30, 2016 by 5:00 pm EST

The Department of Public Health Sciences and The MUSC Center for Global Health will be hosting the 2nd annual global and public health symposium on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the Bioengineering Building. This all-day event is meant to raise awareness of the innovation and partnerships that MUSC and other local South Carolina institutions are making to create healthier global communities. It is open to the entire MUSC community and other local and regional institutions, faculty, clinicians, researchers, students and staff. The full day event will include keynote speaker Chris Beyrer, MD, PhD, Desmond Tutu Professor of Public Health and Human Rights, Founding Director of the Center for Public Health and Human Rights, and Professor of Epidemiology, International Health and Health, Behavior and Society at Johns Hopkins University, and talks by researchers and health care professionals from MUSC and around the globe.

We would like to invite you to present your past or current research, service learning or educational projects related to global and public health in the poster session. This is a great opportunity to obtain feedback on your work from a diverse audience and practice your presentation skills. A one-page abstract of the proposed poster with reference to any publication(s) submitted or published is due by 5:00 PM on September 30th for consideration. Please submit your poster title/abstract to Dr. Mulugeta Gebregziabher no later than Sept 30th. Applicants will be notified by Oct 15th of their presentation status.
