MUSC Center for Global Health
Request for Applications (RFA) for CGH Student Team at
Emory Morningside Global Health Case Competition
Application Deadline: Jan. 17, 2025

The MUSC Center for Global Health (CGH) is pleased to announce that MUSC was selected to be one of the 30 university teams competing in the annual Emory Morningside Global Health Case Competition in March 2025. This case competition is a unique opportunity for students from multiple universities and disciplines to come together to creatively address critical global health challenges in a competitive and collaborative team-based environment.

For the 11th year, the CGH will be sponsoring and assembling a team to participate in this exciting event, and is seeking applications from students who are interested in being considered for the team. Emory requires a team comprised of four to six students, with representation from at least three colleges represented.

This experience is a great opportunity for students to learn about a real-world global health issue and meet and network with students and leaders from around the world interested in global health issues. You will be able to meet and interact with experts from Emory University, the CDC, and other leading organizations who will serve as team case advisors and competition judges. Review cases from prior years on Emory’s website.

Key Dates:

  • Case Release: Thursday, March 20, 2025
  • Virtual Advising Sessions: Monday, March 24, and Tuesday, March 25, 2025
  • Domestic Teams Arrive: Thursday, March 27, 2025
  • First Round Competition: Friday, March 28, 2025
  • Final Round Competition: Saturday, March 29, 2025

Eligibility and Criteria: Applicants must full-time students in good standing, agree to be available the week of the event and must accept the time commitment required to participate. Applicants must be able to travel to Atlanta from March 27-30. Self-motivation, adaptability, and flexibility are critical.

There are no fees involved for the participating students. The CGH covers the $1,150 team application fee and ground transportation costs for team members traveling from Charleston to Atlanta. Emory covers accommodations and meals of all teams.
