When did you join MUSC? January 2023

What’s your favorite part about working in global health? I got into global health through my background in global education, so what I enjoy about my work is helping health professionals continue to learn about their fields through equitable and sustainable programming in other countries. I also believe in the value of cross-cultural understanding in global healthcare, so it is rewarding to hear about the experiences our travelers have and how those experiences impact their views on their own work.

What advice would you give to an international student or faculty member coming to MUSC for the first time? Get involved and don’t be afraid to speak up for your needs.

How do you like to spend your free time? I am an accomplished actor and musician, having performed in theatrical productions across the United States and have even been in a French film. I enjoy attending concerts and shows, and I also am a big sports fan, especially baseball, hockey, and football (Go Pack Go!). Finally, I will never turn down the opportunity to try new and exciting food and drink.

What is your favorite place to travel? I have been fortunate to travel to many places and can find enjoyable aspects to all of them, but I consistently find myself returning to Norway and Senegal – two places that are very near and dear to my heart.
