Graphic with words that say "the only bad workout is the one you didn't do."

Finding motivation to workout is something that many people struggle with. Even though it's understood that you'll get out what you put in, it's still hard for most to get off the couch. Everyone knows most excuses for not wanting to workout are“I don't have time,” “I’m too tired,” “I’ll start tomorrow,” etc. These tend to be the universal terms for everyone. Something that is different for everyone is finding motivation to workout.

Everyone has goals that are special to them especially when it comes to fitness. Some might be wanting to become stronger, to lose or gain weight, wanting anew PR with weights or running, or even to look like someone they idolize. No matter what it might be, knowing that with any workout you do to reach your goal is still a step towards it. Not wanting to workout and finding yourself using those same excuses are only hurting yourself from reaching your goals.

One of the best ways to stay motivated is to plan out your week. Map out your hours down to what you spend in the car and make time for your workout. Then set reminders on your phone or even write them to yourself and put them in the mirror or around your house. Making sure that you are holding yourself accountable is one of the hardest things to get past when staying motivated.

Any workout is better than nothing! No matter what you get done even if it's a quick 30 minute session, know that you are one step closer to your goal because you were able to look past the excuses and focus on your motivation.

Come in for a workout this week!  The Wellness Center is currently open Monday through Friday 6am – 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am – 3pm.
