Fitness Activities and Services

Pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It is played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Players use a paddle and a plastic ball with holes. The sport is played as doubles or singles.

Members have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the fastest growing sport in the country from Professional Pickleball Registry certified instructor, Kevin Smuniewski. We have clinics throughout the year to provide an overview of the sport, rules and basic fundamentals and strategy.

Pickleball drop in play is complimentary for the MUSC Wellness Center members. Equipment is provided. Questions? Contact Kevin

Personalized Nutrition Counseling

Meet our MUSC Wellness Center Registered Dietitian Judith Herrin, 15+ years of experience with nutrition for special fitness and wellness programs.

Whether you are adopting a specific nutrition plan, such as gluten-free or plant-based, and you’re looking for whole, nutritious, and satisfying foods or you are menopausal, recovering from an illness, an athlete or simply aware that you’re aging and want to consume foods that promote optimal health - we got you! If you are confused by conflicting information about proper nutrition and/or after making unsuccessful attempts to change what and how you eat or need help with creating a plan for your everyday busy schedule - we got you!

Judith will start your consultation with a comprehensive health and nutrition assessment, which includes information such as food preferences, intolerances, and allergies; daily food intake; personal diet history; personal and family health conditions; food lifestyle; relationship with food; and food cravings, as well as review any lab work and/or notes from your physician. You get a chance to include a body composition testing to look at your personal basal metabolic rate. Based on the assessment, Judith will work to evaluate the role that food plays in your life and design a nutrition plan that supports your needs and goals, including stabilizing your weight and achieving improved and/or optimal health. This package also includes a 30 minute follow up goal session.

Package fee is $50 ($70 Value) for 50 minutes and $30 for 30 minutes. Please fill out your session request form here and we will get back to schedule your consultation!
