Learn about programs and resources that can help you lead a tobacco-free. When smokers quit, the benefits begin to accrue within twenty minutes of smoking that last cigarette.

MUSC Programs

MUSC Tobacco Cessation Service

  • Program offers individual counseling by credentialed pharmacist and patches, gum, nasal spray, inhaler, and lozenge when recommended. Visits are weekly, then monthly.
  • Eligibility: MUSC employees and community (must be referred by an MUSC physician)

Quit for Life - BlueCross BlueShield

  • Program offers telephonic and online counseling patches, gum, lozenges, bupropion (Zyban) if recommended, and a ‘Quit for Life’ kit. Unlimited for one year. Can re-enroll after one year.
  • Eligibility: Employees with standard state BCBS and possibly covered family members

American Lung Association

  • Program offers unlimited online resources with interactive message board support
  • Eligibility: All individuals
