When did you join MUSC? December 2011

What’s your favorite part about working in global health? I truly love meeting and interacting with all of our amazing international students and scholars and learning about their cultures and life experiences. Our students and scholars are incredibly accomplished, dedicated, courageous, and passionate. I am endlessly inspired by our international community at MUSC!

What advice would you give to an international student or faculty member coming to MUSC for the first time? Please carefully read the pre-arrival emails and guidance materials that we send you. 😊 We know it’s a lot of information, but it’s all for your benefit to prepare you for arriving in the US and at MUSC. Also, never hesitate to reach out to our office to ask any questions, either before you arrive or during your time at MUSC. Finally, pack your swimsuit and perhaps a good pair of galoshes. 😉

How do you like to spend your free time? Adventures with my 14-year-old rescue dog Buckley, hiking, rucking, spending time in nature, getting creative in the kitchen (and eating said creations), tending to my indoor jungle, knitting, reading, yoga, and (most importantly) quality time with friends and family.

What is your favorite place to travel? I haven’t gotten to travel as much as I would like, so I have a very long bucket list that I need to start working on. Sweden is currently at the top of the list. When I have the time, I love traveling to the mountains (any mountains). Living at sea level for the past 20 years has me yearning for some altitude.
