LGBTQ+ Health Services and Resources

Establishing MUSC as a center of excellence for LGBTQIA+ health care.

At MUSC, we provide a welcoming environment for patients, students, and employees who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. MUSC Health care team members strive to offer equitable care to all, while also acknowledging and respecting the specific needs of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Our Goals:

  • Train care team members to provide inclusive and culturally competent care for people who identify as LGBTQIA+.
  • Identify and implement strategies to make the MUSC and MUSC Health campuses more welcoming for LGBTQIA+ people and their families.
  • Increase MUSC's visibility at LGBTQIA+ community events.

Resources:

  • PRISM (People Respecting Identities and Sexualities at MUSC) – PRISM's mission is to raise awareness and empower members of the LGBTQIA+ community across the MUSC enterprise by providing opportunities for professional development and community-building. PRISM welcomes anyone who is looking for a safe space to authentically be themselves whether they have found who they truly are, are still exploring themselves, or are seeking guidance from a like-minded group of individuals. We are creating an environment where everyone, including allies, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, feels valued and supported. If you're interested in joining, please fill out our PRISM interest form!
