A free event featuring food, drinks and entertainment takes place November 12 at Hollings Cancer Center. The Community Compass Project calls it “Dialogue and dining: building a healthy community.”

Joy Vandervort-Cobb will use humor to showcase the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Ann Caldwell and the Magnolia Singers, known for beautiful a cappella performances of Gullah spirituals, will also be on hand.

Chef Curtis Labitue, executive chef and owner of Royal Grand Events, will prepare the food.

The goal is to get people to take simple steps that can have a big impact on their health. It’s also a chance for them to tour Hollings Cancer Center.
